Which is a better choice, an ordinary Honda Civic or a Hybrid Honda Civic?

Update:

Which is a better choice, an ordinary Honda Civic or a Hybrid Honda Civic? I am looking for a pre-owned or a used one which is a 2008 model for my daughter.

The Civic Hybrid through 2011 had serious problems with hybrid battery failure. Honda ultimately settled a class action suit that offers a payment to the original owner but not to buyers. In either case, the Civic in the 2006-2009 model years had a problem with cracking blocks and should be avoided. Both are relatively rare problems - odds are you won't be one of the 4% with a premature hybrid battery failure or one of the smaller number with a cracked block. The decision is yours.

ordinary. They're time tested and extremely reliable. I've heard the early civic hybrids had transmission issues.
