Is it a new thing that Democrats are for arming the Kurds?

My synopsis/question:

I try to watch both sides of of the debates, but I'm as surprised that democratic candidates seem to be for it as I was that so many republicans don't even seem to achnowledge it.

Useless info:

-unless something changes my only hope for a positive choice is Rand Paul.

    Who knows what Republican candidates support? They lie, they posture, make promises they know they can't keep (make Mexico build a fence) and insult each other. Dems quietly, confidential put out real ideas without insulting each other...like real grown-ups. Makes me proud.
