    No, it isn't a mystery.

    Biological evolution is quite simple:

    1) Living things replicate.

    2) Sometimes there are errors in replication, mutations.

    3) The mutation either continues to replicate or it doesn’t. This is called “natural selection”.

Though the process of evolution can be stated simply, it has far reaching implications.

Because of evolution, every person on Earth except identical twins has DNA different from everyone else. More reliable than fingerprints for identification, the DNA can also identify familial and species associations.

It is a bit like continental drift, which is measurable and has much evidence. Very few people would deny it occurs, yet it is not observable to the eye or even obvious over multiple lifetimes.

Strangely though, nobody says continental drift does not happen because they have never seen two continents crash into each other. I guess it is undeniable because of the empiric evidence supplied by science. Perhaps it is also not denied so much because it does not have such an impact on some people's belief.

The time that evolution takes is immense, scientists would be the first to admit that there is much to be discovered about the triggers and mechanisms that drive it. But the basic theory of evolution is as sound as the theory of gravity.

Evolution IS a mystery, full of changes no one sees. God makes a fool of history

It's roughly as mysterious and unseen as when a car pulls up in your driveway with a full GPS record of everywhere it's been and exactly how it got there. We didn't watch the car make every turn, but the record is right there for anyone to see and understand.

Q: Is evolution a mystery?full of changes no one sees?

A: Only if you are not paying attention. I once fed a certain crow who I called Moses. I called it that because it had fins on the top of its wings. The following spring, Moses and spouse and child appeared for the peanuts I fed them. The baby had a fin on one wing.

If the finned crow has an edge, its children are more likely to survive and replace the no-fin crowe. Same with cats where one of the litter has no tail or no ear. There are so many examples, with the spotted moth being the most clear example of evolution in process.

    Is evolution a mystery? No.

Is it full of changes that no one sees? No, most people see the changes. It is only the blind who do not see (figuratively speaking).

Not a mystery, but there are some fine points yet to be worked out. It is seen, which is how we know it exists.

If you don't see evolution, it is because you are afraid to look.

Biologists understand how evolution works in extreme detail.

No, its a fact. Most religious people fear it because it proves that their god doesn't exist.
