I have a deep fryer. What can I do to keep the food from sticking to the basket?

The first time I used my deep fryer that I just got, I made some fish n' chips, and although the quality in flavor and texture was perfect, I had a problem with the fish sticking to the basket, which means the fish broke into pieces trying to get it out of the basket. Is there any way to avoid this? It seems that if I used a non-stick cooking spray on the basket, it would be rinsed off by the hot oil. Any suggestions?

Place each piece of fish in one at a time, and hold it, suspended in the oil, for a few seconds before letting it go. This starts cooking the batter, and it won't stick when it touches the basket. It sticks because the wet batter touches the basket and then cooks onto it.

the technique is to shake the basket throughout cooking, not too aggressivley, just enough prevent the fish from sticking. if youre still having trouble or if its fresh batter then submerge the basket and put the fish straight into the oil, be careful not to splash hot oil though.

I don't use a basket. I just put the fish in the pot and slowly stir to keep the fish moving for about 1 minute.

Are you putting the fish into the basket before you submerge it into the oil? Try placing the empty basket into the oil first, then carefully and gently placing the fish into the oil.

Place the empty basket in the frying oil before adding anything to it, to heat it up. THEN add your food.
