Can a company share a licensed anime?

Update:

For example Funimation has Durarara Ketsu but Aniplex of America already owns it because they have the previous series. But this time Funimation has it with Aniplex?

Neither owns the anime, they merely hold a license to produce a certain season. It's like Spiderman movies. While Sony may hold the license to produce live action movies they still don't own the character as a whole.

From what I'm seeing Durarara Ketsu breaks down like this for the US market:

    Broadcaster: Animax Asia

    Internet Streaming:

    Crunchyroll

    Daisuki

    FUNimation Entertainment

    Licensed by: Aniplex of America

    Only with proper protection.
