I have a 5 ft x 8 ft rubber backed area rug that is dirty.?
Do you think I can wash it in the "mega" front load washing machine at the laundromat? Gentle cycle and warm water wash and warm water rinse?

no, too big, won't get clean, better to take it outside, use cans of rug cleaner, and scrub with a long handled brush that you rinse in a bucket of clean water periodically.
