So I'm getting my girlfriend a promise ring, but I know that usually both wear it in the relationship, so when I buy hers do I buy my own too or does she get mine or what?

The idea is you give her a ring with YOUR promise and so SHE would give you a ring with HER promise
So you buy one and she buys the other of the two rings what normally happens is you both go and shop for them to get the right sizes and thicknesses to suit the finger they fit on
