what is the standard reference book in regards to the study of liquor and spirits ( everything besides wine ) ? not a recipe book!?

Update:

I'm in a somm. course and have to learn some more about liquors and spirits - sake , whiskey , beer , liqueurs , cognac , etc.

    They have other books that provide the recipes.

    Try Amazon. I have several books that talk about them but none are authoritative.
