Can you report a work related injury late?

About 4 days ago I hurt my back at work. Thereje was some discomfort and slight pain and I thought it was just a pulled muscle. Today I woke up not even able to get up because the slightest use of my lower back hurts like hell. I know the longer you wait, the less likely you are to receive any benefits, but are you still able to report it if it's late? My manager told me I can't report anymore since it's been more than 24 hours. That seems ridiculous to me though since some times it takes longer to know if you are injured.

Ur supposed to report every incident almost as soon as it happens so that this doesnt happen. If ur manager says u cant then u probably cant.

Where i work u can backdate it tho. Unless its been ages like a month or something

That depends on your boss and where you work at. Because that decision is all entirely on you and your boss.
