Please help with a follow up letter after interview?
I went on two job interviews for an administrative assistant position. The last interview was Friday and I was told I would hear back this week. I sent a thank you email on Friday evening. I haven't heard anything back and it's been a week. Should I send an email inquiring if the position is still open? Or should I phrase it more positive? Please help with a nice way to send the email.

Sending a thank you letter/e-mail after an interview is a really really BAD thing to do - those who do as seen as needy indviduals. As you haven't heard anything since they have offered the job to someone else.

Yes, it's not a bad idea. Schedules change and things come up. I would just follow up with a quick email like, Hello, just wondering if the position has been filled.

If they told you you would hear back this week and you have not heard back from them at the true ending of the week, then you can bet they hired someone already, they normally don't call you if you didn't get the job. They usually say when you would expect to hear from them so that you won't be calling or emailing desperately.
