Do you ever cross out or replace "In God We Trust" on paper money?

I do.

No, but if you black out the right letters of "Federal Reserve Note" then you're left with "FART" at the top of the bill.

I mean, I'm not even American, so I could not possibly do it now, even if I wanted to! :)

..But yeah. I actually have, in the past. During my hardcore atheist phase, (which, suffice to say, I have long since left behind!), I was in this long-distance relationship with another hardcore atheist, for about a year and a half.. (We actually met here in R&S, believe it or not!) :S ..And he lived over in the states. Of course.. :-P

I visited him twice, by airplane. (And he visited me once.) So, during my stay there, I always used to cross it off my money, like the good little rebel that I was... :-P ..Which kind of did give me a strong, subversive thrill! Basically the same sort of thrill as what I used to feel when smoking weed with my friends, way back when... (I no longer feel that anywhere near as much, though. I guess I've sort of gotten used to it by now...)

I'm not one to rebel for the mere sake of rebelling. There are lots of good, and very necessary, laws out there, that I would never even consider breaking!! But... As for those laws that are unfair, or stupid, or hypocritical, or in my eyes just flat out wrong, the rebel in me has always taken a GREAT deal of delight in deliberately disobeying them, as a way of protesting against their inherent stupidity! So yeah... Crossing God off my money..? That iconoclastic rebel girl part of me just really, thoroughly enjoyed doing that! There's no denying it... ;)

I wonder if that money is still out there, in circulation, somewhere...? It would be so much fun if it were! I almost wish I'd kept a few bills, just as a memory. :-P

Source(s): Still a rebel, deep down, but I guess I've found different, far more important things to rebel against now... (..And hopefully better, more constructive ways of going about it.) :)

Right. But just in case God is not trustworthy, we have an army, a navy, an air force, marines, a coast guard, a reserve, a national guard, a homeland security, an FBI, a CIA and heaven knows how many other secret agencies to defend us.

The funny thing is how useless they will all be on the day of Armageddon.

Why would I do that? That particular god has some use. Even if we mostly use plastic, the dollar gets so much done. Of course, I suppose trusting it is a bit naive.

You can read what Jesus Christ said about riches...

"No one can slave for two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stick to the one and despise the other. You cannot slave for God and for Riches" (Matthew 6:24. Bible).

Of course not. Defacing money is a crime. I obey the law.

No. It is our nation's motto. Not to mention it is truth.

Just so you know: that is a Federal offense. [Edit: I was mistaken. See comments if you want to know how and why.]
