Maytag Dryer model DE 313 won't start but makes noise like only one phase is working.When drum is spun by hand it moves freely.Any ideas?

The blanket I put in the dryer was a bit on the heavy side, that may have cased the problem.

    1st thing to do is look in the owners manual; 2nd is to look at online forums for other who may have had the same issue
