Are we obeying GOD's word or keeping man's traditions?

NOWHERE in your Bible will you find Christians observing Easter on GOD's first work day of the week! In fact the followers of Christ had all kept GOD's Sabbath day before they discovered our Savior's empty tomb on GOD's "first work day of the week". Luke 23:56 24:1

Your Savior was crucified on Nissan 14 or Passover and resurrected 3 days later on Nissan 17 first fruits. This year people will keep the tradition of celebrating Easter almost a month before Christ was crucified no our April 22 or Passover.

NOWHERE in your Bible does it say that Jesus rose from the dead on GOD's "first work day of the week"!

The fact is that after the Gospel records of Christ followers keeping GOD's Sabbath and discovering the empty tomb on GOD's first work day of the week, the first day of the week is not mentioned for almost 25 years. Acts 20:7 and 1 Cor. 16:1-8 A meal on Saturday evening at the close of GOD's Sabbath at sunset and a one time welfare collection for the Saints in Jerusalem. Paul was to pick up this gift on his way trough.

This year will you obey GOD's word or keep man's tradition?

GOD Bless!

Update:

NOWHERE in your Bible will you find GOD the Father GOD the Son or GOD's Holy Spirit associated with Easter!

From the beginning GOD established HIS Passover Feast to celebrate HIS Son becoming our Passover Lamb to take away our sins. According to your Bible GOD has nothing to do with celebrating Easter!

Easter became a holy day in the 4th century when the Council of Nicea decided to commemorate it a week after the Spring equinox. No one depicted in the Bible celebrated Easter. The Gospels tell a tale of a Passover Supper and relate that Christ was crucified on what we now regard as a Friday. He rose "on the third day," which was designated as the following Sunday. The Bible was written and put together centuries after the Gospel stories supposedly took place and religious traditions based on them were standardized between beginning in the 4th century.

I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. (John 16:12-13)

Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours. (2 Thessalonians 2:15)

We instruct you, brothers, in the name of (our) Lord Jesus Christ,to shun any brother who conducts himself in a disorderly way and not according to the tradition they received from us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you. (1 Corinthians 11:2)

The Catholic Church does not use Holy Scripture as the only basis of doctrine. It could not. The early Catholic church existed before and during the time that the New Testament was written.

There were hundreds of Christian writings during the first and second centuries. Which New Testament writings would become official was not fully decided until about 400 C.E.

Catholics believe that the Holy Spirit was guiding the early church (and is guiding the church today) to make the correct choices about things like:

    • The Holy Trinity (which is also only hinted at in the Bible)

    • Going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday (which is actually directly against one of the Ten Commandments)

    • The Communion of Saints

    • Which writings include in the New Testament? And the Bible as a whole?

Things that are even more modern like

    • Slavery is bad. Slavery is never declared evil in the Bible. This was one of the justifications for slavery in the Confederate States.

    • Democracy is good. The Bible states that either God should be the leader of the nation like Israel before the kings or kings should be the leader, "Give to Caesar that which is Caesar's." This was talked about a lot during the American Revolution.

This second source of doctrine is called Apostolic Tradition.

Do Christians who do not allow the continuing guiding force of the Holy Spirit to make their beliefs more and more perfect, still endorse slavery as Colossians 3:22 commands, "Slaves, obey your human masters in everything"?

For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 75 and following: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/cate...

    With love in Christ.

I am really sorry but this is really simple to not only research yourself but you should just know this stuff. Back in Jesus's time they used a 10 month lunar calendar, it was not until after the middle ages that the catholic church adopted the modern 12 month solar calendar. So that is why older religions like Muslims and Jews have their holidays dates change year to year, we had to assign dates to events, its basic history. Your way of thinking is anti scientific un educated

Jesus broke bread and passed around wine saying to do this in remembrance of me. So we do this on Maundy Thursday, in remembrance of the day Jesus broke bread and was betrayed.

We have a funeral-like service on Friday in remembrance of the day Jesus died.

Then we have a happy festive celebration on Sunday, the day the tomb was found empty, and Jesus was resurrected.

The idea is to relive the Passion narrative, that we might experience and better appreciate what Jesus and his disciples went through. It can be a very powerful and moving week for Christians if you want it to be.

The Passion narrative is what Christianity is all about, after all.

It will not be a very powerful experience if you spend it debating about how the Christian calendar does not exactly correspond to the Jewish calendar, or other meaningless details. Early in the Christian church, the leaders decided not to rely on the Synagog to set dates. They decided it was better that we set our own calendar dates. It is a decision I happen to agree with.

Nowhere in the Bible are Gentile Christians commanded to keep the Sabbath. This is a tradition of men. You cannot take what God commanded of the Hebrews and rationalize your way around and apply those commandments to Christians. The old covenant ended upon the death of Jesus, who was the God of that old covenant incarnate. God does not deal with us illegally.

According to Romans 14, we have the Liberty to esteem a day to God, or not to do so. Your claim is that we have no right to esteem a day in regards to the resurrection of Christ. That is about as legalistic as it gets.

You need to read your Bible a lot more carefully. In Joseph chapter 4 it talks about Easter, the hiding of the eggs and even makes a reference to Peter Rabbit.

lets see. if your religion believes in the trinity, eternal hellfire, rejects the feast days, rejects sabbath for sunday, believes in good friday & sunday resurrection, believes in the immortal soul teaching, celebrates pagan holidays (christmas, easter etc.), involved with politics and war etc.

if your religion meets any of the criterias above, you are in a false one. plain and simple. i recommend you checkout the Living Church Of God, United Church Of God, or the Restored Church Of God.

these are the only 3 religions that are actually following the bible. (the rest are so far off)

Every Sunday is Easter (without the Easter Egg hunts).

In biblical times slavery was OK and you could stone adulterers. Times change and god must change with them.

Christians today are worried about gays and liberals and they are not happy that they have to work so hard to "interpret" bible passages to support them. Yet they are positive that god never intended for them to love thy neighbor.
