    Voting Rights Act of 1965

    [The Act contains several specific prohibitions on conduct that may interfere with a person's ability to cast an effective vote. One of these prohibitions is prescribed in Section 201, which prohibits any jurisdiction from requiring a person to comply with any "test or device" to register to vote or cast a ballot. The term "test or device" is defined as literacy tests, educational or knowledge requirements, proof of good moral character, and requirements that a person be vouched for when voting.]

    Literacy tests were outlawed in the Voting Rights Act. This was after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that using literacy tests to disenfranchise eligible voters is unconstitutional. Ann Coulter wants to do that, too, but then she once wanted to take away the female vote…so...

    It's funny how all of our candidates are talking about how not enough people are going out to vote, and yet you Conservatives sit here trying to make voting more and more difficult.

    Nah, I think it would make more sense to require them to answer questions about each candidate running. If you don't know anything about the candidates, you shouldn't be voting.

    they tried that down south prior to the 1950s. even republicans didn't agree with it then.
