Can someone identify this bird?

I ve never seen a bird like this one. Can anyone tell me what species it is. Looks a lot like a cardinal but the color is wrong.

Look up photos of a Cedar Waxwing and see if it is like the bird you saw. It resembles a cardinal in that it has a crest on it's head. They are somewhat smaller than cardinals and are described as mostly brown, grey and yellow, but I have seen them that are a mostly grey/blue color. They are native to the same areas cardinals are.

Female Cardinals in winter, cedar waxwings and titmice have similar looks.
