Can a malfunctioning shunt cause delayed body reaction? Kind of lost here.?

I have a VP shunt, last revised August 2003. In the past year or so Ive noticed that many times when I realize I need to do or say something like saying hi to someone who says hi to me or smiling when someone smiles at me, I know I need to do the task but my body wont do it. I had a cat scan and MRI 2 years ago that showed nothing wrong. Could what I mentioned above be a sign of bad shunt?

Thank you!

Sure. How often do your see your neurologist? An acute obstruction would likely have more significant signs and symptoms, but a partial obstruction could just make you feel foggy.

Your doctor needs to know about this. Only he/she can determine if something is wrong and needs attention. Don't try to guess your way out of a situation as important to your well being as this.
