What is meant by God the Father having SEALED His Son... why is it important for the One who gives us the enduring food to have been SEALED?

Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for that food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father sealed Him.

(John 6:27 MKJV)

Bonus Q: What does it mean to "...set his seal to this, that God is TRUE"... ?

He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.

(John 3:33-36 MKJV)

Another intriqueing passage concerning a Heart Seal:

"Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is cruel as the grave; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of YHWH."

(Song of Solomon 8:6 MKJV)

May we also stay TRUE to our LOVE for GOD even "strong as death"... and "better than life"... : )

Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

(Psalms 63:3 MKJV)

Thank you, beloved of God, for considering this Q. and may we be blessed with shared insights. : )

The Lord has sealed us through the 'arrabon' known also as the 'earnest' of the Holy Spirit, (2 Corinthians 1:22).

This is actually a term of business indicating a down payment or pledge payment representing the promise of full payment concluding the transaction. Jesus is the first sealed among many brothers and sisters, receiving the promissory inspiration that identifies all children of God. This initial inspiration contains the sure and perfect prophetic word of God regarding the redemption of resurrection and eternal life. This is what enabled Jesus to make the same promise here to all who would become One with Himself. He is the Bread from heaven and the River of living water, also the Vine within which we inherit the same seal and subsequent fulfillment of the promise of eternal life shared by all who abide in the Father and the Son and become One with that endless and superabundant life, eating of the same food and drinking of the same drink.

In the allegory of the Vine, the 'seal' is the graft made into the Vine which gives the new branch access to the flow of eternal life and begins the healing, the steady transformation and permanent union. Each cut made into the Vine is another graft site prepared for another brother or sister. That is why it is by His stripes we are healed.

The greatest Teacher ever to walk on earth urged that people elevate their sights and reach out for the provisions that can bring everlasting life. What type of persons would be given such a reward? According to Jesus, it was those upon whom God “has put his seal of approval.” (John 6:27) So working to have God’s approval and thereby receiving everlasting life in happiness was a goal that Jesus set before his disciples. (2 Peter 3:13) The number of those seal is brought out in Rev. 14:1-3.

Sealed as in sealing a letter. It's done. Case closed.

John 3:33 has the same meaning as Or “has confirmed.” When anyone put their seal on something it meant it came from them!

(Matthew 3:17) Look! Also, a voice from the heavens said: “This is my Son, the beloved, whom I have approved.”

(Acts 2:22) “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Naz·a·reneʹ was a man publicly shown to you by God through powerful works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.

(2 Peter 1:17) For he received from God the Father honor and glory when words such as these were conveyed to him by the magnificent glory: “This is my Son, my beloved, whom I myself have approved.”

At (Revelation 7:3) saying: “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads.”These would be those approved to rule with Christ in God's Kingdom (Dan 2:44)

What is this sealing, and who are these slaves of God? The sealing began at Pentecost 33 C.E. when the first Jewish Christians were anointed with holy spirit. Later, God proceeded to call out and anoint “people of the nations.” (Romans 3:29; Acts 2:1-4, 14, 32, 33; 15:14) The apostle Paul wrote about anointed Christians’ having a guarantee that they “belong to Christ” and added that God “has also put his seal upon us and has given us the token of what is to come, that is, the spirit, in our hearts.” (2 Corinthians 1:21, 22; compare Revelation 14:1.) Thus, when these slaves are adopted as God’s spiritual sons, they receive a token in advance of their heavenly inheritance a seal, or pledge. (2 Corinthians 5:1, 5; Ephesians 1:10, 11) They can then say: “The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God’s children. If, then, we are children, we are also heirs: heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with Christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together.”Romans 8:15-17.

“Provided we suffer together” what does that mean? In order to receive the crown of life, anointed Christians must endure, faithful even to death. (Revelation 2:10) It is not a matter of ‘once saved, always saved.’ (Matthew 10:22; Luke 13:24) Rather, they are admonished: “Do your utmost to make the calling and choosing of you sure for yourselves.” Like the apostle Paul, ultimately they must be able to say: “I have fought the fine fight, I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith.” (2 Peter 1:10, 11; 2 Timothy 4:7, 8) So here on earth the testing and sifting of the remaining spirit-begotten sons of God must go on until Jesus and his accompanying angels will have firmly implanted the seal ‘in the forehead’ of all of these, identifying them conclusively, irrevocably, as tried and faithful “slaves of our God.” That seal then becomes a permanent mark. Evidently, when the four winds of tribulation are unleashed, all of spiritual Israel will have been sealed in finality, even though a few will still be alive in the flesh. (Matthew 24:13; Revelation 19:7) The entire membership will be complete! Romans 11:25, 26.

A “SEAL” THAT BUILDS FAITH IN JEHOVAH

Paul’s word picture recorded at 2 Timothy 2:19 depicts a foundation with a message on it, as if imprinted with a seal. In ancient times, it was not uncommon to display an inscription on a building’s foundation, perhaps showing who built it or who owned it. Paul was the first Bible writer to use this particular illustration. * The seal on “the solid foundation of God” has two pronouncements. First, “Jehovah knows those who belong to him” and second, “Let everyone calling on the name of Jehovah renounce unrighteousness.” This reminds us of what we read at Numbers 16:5.—Read.

What lesson can we learn from the “seal” in Paul’s word picture? For those who belong to God, Jehovah’s values and principles can be summed up in two fundamental truths: (1) Jehovah loves those who are loyal to him, and (2) Jehovah hates unrighteousness. How is this lesson relevant to the issue of apostasy within the congregation?

' What is meant by God the Father having SEALED His Son..'

    sealed means anointed and proven.

-- Jesus was born of a virgin

-- Jesus manifested the power of God thru miracles

-- the exposition of Jesus on scripture left the pharisees dumbfounded

' why is it important for the One who gives us the enduring food to have been SEALED? '

if one is not sealed, then one is not of God but of satan.

' Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm '

a married couple is sealed thru marriage.

this is a love song ... a bride to her groom.

we are the bride of Christ, sealed to the groom, Jesus Christ.

where there is love in a relationship, such a relationship cannot be broken but is sealed ... w love, in love.

    God bless you, brother.

The highest, God, endorses Jesus the Christ as belonging to God, that everything within the context of the Son is verified as true.

Only the exact same can be authenticated like this.

Receiving is like the verb 'to hear'. It is whole hearted, not part measure.

    Then...we are embraced also.

Sealed is Greek sphragizō meaning to prove, confirm, or attest a thing, to authenticate, place beyond doubt.

To mark one as belonging to another

"Set me as a seal on Your heart"

This is Hebrew chowtham meaning basically a promise afforded by one's authority

The Hebrews were accustomed to carry around their necks and upon their breasts a signet ring which served as a stamp or seal of approval

It means that the Father has approved the Son, that God has set his seal of approval on Christ Jesus, and that the only way to the Father is through Christ Jesus, the Son. God's seal is God's guarantee.

Jesus is the bread of life (John 6:35), the source of living water (John 7:38). All who come to him will never thirst again (John 4:14). There is no other source of spiritual "food."

"In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe" (Hebrews 1:1-3).

And for all who come to saving faith in Christ Jesus, we have this assurance: "In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory" (Ephesians 1:13-14).
