Why Do “Left” And “Right” Mean Liberal And Conservative, while true liberal generosity is to NOT let your Left know what your Right is doing?

"...do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing..." Comes from this God-breathed context:

Therefore whenever you practice charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet in front of you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, in order that they may be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have received their reward in full! But you, when you practice charitable giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, in order that your charitable giving may be in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

    (Mat 6:2-4 LEB)

The heart of the wise inclines to his right, but the heart of the fool inclines to his left.

    (Ecc 10:2 LEB)

And should I not be concerned about Nineveh, the great city, in which there are more than one hundred and twenty thousand people who DO NOT KNOW RIGHT FROM LEFT, plus many animals?"

    (Jon 4:11 LEB)

  • In the Hebrew language what is it that determines whether "בָּרַךְ bârak" is "bless" or "curse"?

For example, "...Satan answered YHWH and said, Does Job fear God for nothing? Have You not made a hedge for him, and for his house, and for all that is his all around? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock have increased in the land. But put out Your hand now, and touch against all that is his, and see if he will not then CURSE (BARAK) You to Your face."

    (Job 1:9-11)

Then a little later in the chapter, after much fiery trials, we see the same word (BARAK) being used for BLESS: as Job said "...I came naked out of my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. YHWH gave, and YHWH has taken away. BLESSED (BARAK) be the name of YHWH. In all this Job did not sin, nor charge wrong to God.

    (Job 1:21-22)

Also we see that of the 324 times that BARAK is used in the Bible, 3 times it is translated as CURSE, and once as CURSED, and twice as BLASPHEME.

What is Jesus saying in Luke 2:49?  Why did the translators all add various words to the original meaning?  Why did His parents not perceive?

Here is the Modern King James version of the passage:  (Please note that the added word here is "business", other versions add "affairs", "the things", etc)

"And He said to them, Why did you look for Me? Do you not know that I must be about My Father's business? And they did not understand the word which He spoke to them." (Luke 2:49-50 MKJV)The Apostolic Bible Polyglot has it as such: (please note that "the things" is added, so i've removed it here)"And he said to them, Why is it that you seek me, do you not know that among my Father it is necessary for me to be? And they did not perceive the saying which he spoke to them."(Luke 2:49-50 ABP+)One translation that doesn't seem to have added words is the Latin Vulgate (Which I've had Google Translate)... however they have omitted the "not" as in "did you not know?":"Son, what did this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you." He told them: "What did you seek? Did you know, MY FATHER MUST BE ABOUT?" They did not understand a word that he spoke to them."  Luke 2:48-50Lastly, this Finnish Translation has a very remarkable rendering:  ”And he said to them,“ Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I MUST BE HERE, COMING FROM MY FATHER?”  And they did not understand the word he spoke to them."  Thank you all for your considerations, and may Grace and Peace and Understanding abound, and may we let Our Father BE about us, and may we BE here, coming from our Father, because "as He is, so are we in this world". :) Amen

  • If REAL LIFE is living The Father's Expectation for us, then who is ready to LIVE?

"You have heard that it was said, "You shall love your neighbor" and hate your enemy; (Lev. 19:18) but I say to you, Love your enemies; bless those cursing you, do well to those hating you; and pray for those abusing and persecuting you, so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. Because He causes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and unjust. For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax-collectors do the same? And if you only greet your brothers, what exceptional thing do you do? Do not the tax-collectors do so? Therefore, you be perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect.

    (Matthew 5:43-48 LITV)

This is what we need if we are going to be made perfect in LOVE... Who is UP for it?

  • No man has seen God at anytime, so who did Isaiah see here?

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD (YHWH) sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Isaiah 6:1.

Is YHWH a created being ? I ask also because it appears that YHWH has a Maker: " Thus saith the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, AND HIS MAKER, Ask me of things to come concerning my sons, and concerning the work of my hands command ye me." Isaiah 45:11

"No man hath seen God AT ANY time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." John 1:18

Thank you for your considerate and truth seeking answers. :)

  • Concerning the Mind of Christ, and being made in the form of God,what is it that separates left from the right? What keeps both in balance?

And why is it so important to NOT let your left "KNOW" what your right is doing, when doing "good"?

Are there parts of our mind that are dualistic, balancing dynamics?

But you doing merciful deeds, do not let your left know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret. And your Father seeing in secret Himself will repay you in the open.?

    (Matthew 6:3-4 LITV)

Isn't there a hint in there of the root of evil? (Remembering that this perfect separation was LOST at the fall, for man chose to take in the knowledge of good and evil mixed together)

Bonus Q: Why is a fool's heart at his left, but a wise man's heart is at his Right hand?

A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.

    (Ecclesiastes 10:2 Brenton)

"...For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name,..."

  • Could a soul, being consumed, spent and come to its end, also be like a wineskin in the smoke?

KAPH: My soul is being consumed for Your salvation; I hope in Your Word. My eyes faint for Your Word, saying, When will You comfort me? For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your Statutes.

    (Psalms 119:81-83 LITV)

Some translations say "...like a bottle in the smoke."

Here is that hebrew word for "consumed", and it may be more comonly known as "faint/s", as in the KJV translation: "...My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word. Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?"

    כּלה

    kâlâh

Here is the Brown's Driver Briggs (Hebrew) Definition of the Word used for "consumed".

"1) to accomplish, cease, consume, determine, end, fail, finish, be complete, be accomplished, be ended, be at an end, be finished, be spent

1a1) to be complete, be at an end

1a5) to be spent, be used up

1a6) to waste away, be exhausted, fail...etc."

  • A question to those who are like the Wind. . . . . . . .?

Do you find that this new direction, "from above" and leading "wither-soever you go".... may come out of nowhere, and take an unexpected course, even as the invisible Wind blows where it WILL,...anyway, do you find that this new direction, (as many as are Led by the Spirit of God) is also that "...New and LIVING WAY", which He, our Forerunner and Door to the Everlasting Way, has Himself OPENED for us...that is through the veil of His Flesh*

May we truly, by faith, understand that His Flesh is the flesh of the Word, which is holding all things together by its Power, and by Whom ALL THINGS consist...that Flesh.... (matter, including ALL the elements of nature, even those yet undiscovered) is what Jesus is beckoning us to grasp and partake of with "all wisdom, knowledge and understanding"..and affirmed in His own Words best:

"Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves. The one partaking of My flesh and drinking of My blood has everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is truly food, and My blood is truly drink. The one partaking of My flesh and drinking of My blood abides in Me, and I in him."

    (John 6:53-56 LITV)

Doncha findit justamazing, how ETERNAL LIFE and ABIDING in Him, is the result of partaking of His Flesh and drinking of His Blood.... ?

    How, one may ask?

    It is AS...

Did David, through the Eternal Spirit, write of the Path of the Sun, known today as The Ecliptic,?

King David, through the Spirit of Truth, reveals that "It (the Sun) is like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other end. Nothing is hidden from its heat." Also this passage reveals that the Sun has a "course".

"Their voice has gone out to all the earth and their words to the end of the world. In the heavens He pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his bridal chamber. It is like a strong man rejoicing to run his course.

It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other end. Nothing is hidden from its heat.

    (Psalms 19:5-7)

"The path of the Sun is not normally noticeable from Earth's surface because Earth rotates, carrying the observer through the cycles of sunrise and sunset, obscuring the apparent motion of the Sun with respect to the stars." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecliptic

Interestingly, the word "rises" is actually "motsa" and means the Sun's "going forth"... and we see that the sun's circuit is from one end of the heavens "to the other end."

Science has confirmed that the Sun indeed has a path of its own across the celestial sphere... and this Path of Sun is called "THE ECLIPTIC".

"That orbit lies in a plane, flat like a tabletop, called the plane of the ecliptic (or sometimes just "the ecliptic")" .

  • How do we bear one another's burdens, and yet, humbly cast all our care upon Him?

First, here are these two references for "bearing" and "casting":

"Brothers, if a man is overtaken in some deviation, you, the spiritual ones, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself, that you not also be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks to be something, he deceives himself, being nothing. But let each one prove his work, and then he alone will have a boast in himself and not as to another. For each one will bear his own load. But let the one being taught in the Word share with the one teaching, in all good things. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man may sow, that he also will reap. For the one sowing to his flesh will reap corruption of the flesh. But the one sowing to the Spirit will reap everlasting life from the Spirit. But we should not weaken in doing good, for in due time we shall reap, if we do not faint. So then, as we have time, let us work good toward all, and especially toward the household of the faith. See in what large letters I write to you with my hand."

    (Galatians 6:1-11 LITV)

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he cares for you."

    (1 Peter 5:6-7 KJV)

So then, how are we to bear one another's burdens and have "rest unto your souls" at the same time?

  • Jesus was not "unequally-yoked" to the Father was He?

In other words, do you think He thought it was OK to be EQUAL with God?

I and the Father are one!

    (John 10:30 MKJV)

For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. • What does it mean to exercise yourself to godliness which is profitable to all things?

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among nations, believed on in the world, and received up into glory.

    (1 Timothy 3:16 MKJV)

But refuse profane and old-womanish tales, and exercise yourself to godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the present life, and of that which is to come. Faithful is the Word, and worthy of all acceptance.

    (1 Timothy 4:7-9 MKJV)

What even is the POWER of God-likeness?

And by "God-likeness" I am referring to us acting the part that we've been made, even "in Our Image, and after Our Likeness".

So what is the power of knowing that we were made in His Image and after His Likeness?

First, let us define true "godliness" or "god-likeness"... and let us look to Jesus' example for the best demonstration of this god-like mindedness (thinking like God):

Do not let each man look upon his own things, but each man also on the things of others. For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

  • How is the old self taken off, dismantled, and forsaken... that the NEW self, in and according to Christ, may be put on, and take over?

Do not lie to one another. After all, you have taken off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge, according to the image of the One who created him. Here there is no longer Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, savage, slave and free; but Messiah is all, and in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves in tender compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience— bearing with one another and forgiving each other, if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord pardoned you, so also you must pardon others. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfect harmony. Let the shalom of Messiah rule in your hearts—to this shalom you were surely called in one body. Also be thankful.

    (Colossians 3:9-15 TLV)

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters—and yes, EVEN HIS OWN LIFE—he cannot be My disciple. Whoever does not carry his own cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.

    (Luke 14:26-27 TLV)

Why can we not be Jesus' disciple truly until we "...hate...father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters---and yes, even our OWN LIFE also?

  • If we are to avoid those who have an outward form of godliness, but deny the power thereof, should we not first make certain that we are?

... acknowledging the POWER of god-likeness?

"...holding to an outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people!"

    (2 Timothy 3:5 TLV)

Do we yet understand the meaning and purpose of such power?

What happens when believers believe their words like God does?

Are we not called to be "imitators of God as dear children"?

"Therefore be imitators of God, as dearly loved children;"

    (Ephesians 5:1 TLV)

For how else can we say this, except we are acknowledging and acting the part?

"Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Messiah." 1Co 11:1

Thank you, beloved of God, for considering this Q. and for sharing as the Spirit leads. : )

  • What is "this reason", concerning the certainty of Faith's outcome, which causes whatever you pray and ask for to become yours?

And yes, by "this reason" I am referring to this glorious passage that is not only "ground-breaking" it can relocate mountains with simply unwavering faith as a grain of mustard seed. (also see Matt. 17:20)

Whenever evening came, Yeshua and His disciples would leave the city. As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree shriveled from the roots. Peter remembered and said to Yeshua, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree You cursed has shriveled up!” And Yeshua answered, saying to them, “Have faith in God! Amen, I tell you, if someone says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says is happening, so shall it be for him. For this reason I say to you, whatever you pray and ask, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

    (Mark 11:19-24 TLV)

There certainly must be great reason for great hope that our words can be spoken with such childlike pure sincere faith (working by Love) that Kingdom of Heaven outcomes may be determined by the certainty of FAITH's ALL-POSSIBLE TRIUMPH!

Thank you, Beloved of God, for considering this Q. and may the Grace and Truth of our Glorious Redeemer engulf you with splendor of His Marvellous Light. : )

  • What is meant by God the Father having SEALED His Son... why is it important for the One who gives us the enduring food to have been SEALED?

Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for that food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you. For God the Father sealed Him.

    (John 6:27 MKJV)

Bonus Q: What does it mean to "...set his seal to this, that God is TRUE"... ?

He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true. For He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand. He who believes on the Son has everlasting life, and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.

    (John 3:33-36 MKJV)

Another intriqueing passage concerning a Heart Seal:

"Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is cruel as the grave; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of YHWH."

    (Song of Solomon 8:6 MKJV)

May we also stay TRUE to our LOVE for GOD even "strong as death"... and "better than life"... : )

Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.

    (Psalms 63:3 MKJV)

Thank you, beloved of God, for considering this Q. and may we be blessed with shared insights. : )

  • What is the ONE THING that is needful, in the following context?

First, here is that reference for this blessed context:

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she came to Him and said, Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things. But ONE THING IS NEEDFUL, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

    (Luke 10:39-42 MKJV)

What is it that makes this ONE THING more important than any other thing?

Why is it the ONE THING that we cannot do without?

When ONE has chosen that "good part", why shall it never be taken from the ONE that chooses it, as in the example of Mary?

Is there a connection between this ONE THING that is imperative, and the GREATEST command starting with it as well?

In other words, we often think the greatest command is to LOVE, and while it is, it all starts first with the essential "HEARING" of this ONE Thing....The greatest command is to "HEAR, O Israel (Prince with God) the LORD (YHWH) our God is ONE,.."

Mary chose to recognize the Living Word of God being communicated and chose to receive and take in that incorruptible seed, and living water... or simply stated, "sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word"... Is this then like doing the greatest command to HEAR and LOVE, for Mary chose to HEAR the ONE who was UNITED as ONE with the FATHER GOD?

  • What is the ONE THING that we are all to "think to same" about?

This question, beloved soul, comes from this joyous context:

"...fulfill my joy, that you think the same, having the same love, one in soul, MINDING THE ONE THING, doing nothing according to party spirit or self-glory, but in humility, esteeming one another as surpassing themselves; each not looking at the things of themselves, but each also the things of others. For think this within you, which mind was also in Christ Jesus, who subsisting in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, having become in the likeness of men and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, having become obedient until death, even the death of a cross. Because of this also God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every name, that at the name of Jesus "every knee should bow," of heavenly ones, and earthly ones, and ones under the earth, and "every tongue should confess" that Jesus Christ is "Lord," to the glory of God the Father. Isa. 45:23 So, then, my beloved, even as you always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, cultivate your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who is working in you both to will and to work for the sake of His good pleasure.

    (Philippians 2:2-13 LITV)

Bonus Q: Could this "ONE THING" which the Apostle writes of by the Spirit, also be the same "ONE THING" that David also wrote of by the same Spirit of Grace and Truth?
