Could a soul, being consumed, spent and come to its end, also be like a wineskin in the smoke?

KAPH: My soul is being consumed for Your salvation; I hope in Your Word. My eyes faint for Your Word, saying, When will You comfort me? For I am like a wineskin in the smoke; I do not forget Your Statutes.

Some translations  say "...like a bottle in the smoke."

Here is that hebrew word for "consumed", and it may be more comonly known as "faint/s", as in the KJV translation: "...My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word. Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?"

Is this a question or a sermon? If it's a sermon, it's a lousy one, only exposing that you know nothing about the subject. The subject here is "I hope in Your Word." "My soul is consumed" simply means "I'm getting awfully tired of waiting."

Do you know what a bottle is? It's something that holds liquid. It was made of animal skin and hung on a nail or something where the smoke coated it day after day. And the bottle didn't jump off the nail to go get a breath of fresh air, it endured the smoke. Likewise the speaker endures the wait for God's promised salvation. That's what it says, that's what it means.

This is a Jewish passage, not Christian.
