And how much would a manservant be paid in, say, 1977? In general, how did Germans treat their servants?
I want my down-on-her-luck wealthy person to underpay, but not to ridiculously underpay, her new servant. Would room and board and 100 marks a month in 1977 be stupidly low? Or, on the other hand, quite high? I found a wage for autoworkers that said 75 percent of the average wage was 280 DM in that era. So I hope I'm in the ballpark!
