Why is populist conservatism more popular than libertarianism?

I'm a libertarian myself, liberals are terrified of people not agreeing with them and being left to their own devices. You have to serve everybody if you have a business, I would personally, but it's their business, they should be able to not serve whoever they want. And the rich should not be taxed more to pay for what liberals want, use your own money you entitled leeches.

Because history shows what happens when people are left to their own devices.

Edit: Fine, thumbs down. What you get is sweatshops, child labor, unsafe and unhealthy working conditions, rats in your hot dogs and a huge division between the very rich and everyone else. Read some history; prove me wrong, if you can.

Because conservatism is not as radical as libertarianism!
