First Credit Card?

So I am going to be getting my first credit card here soon, and so naturally I will be going with a secured card.

Any recommendations?

I was thinking of going with Navy Federal Credit Union secured card (reports as unsecured). The only problem is I will have to convince my father to join first because I can't join unless he is a member (he does qualify, just never joined for some reason) or see if my grandfather is a member (I think I can join if he is)

If not NFCU then I was thinking of the Discover secured card (reports as secured)

Navy Federal is a good credit union--by all means go with them if you can.

Are you sure that your military-related relative actually has to be a member, and it's not enough for you to be just related to a member of the military?

I am not sure if any secured cards report as being secured or not

All it shows is the account number and who issued the card

It doesn't matter, go with any card that will accept you
