Epileptic to psychological seizures?
So I had epilepsy totally diagnosed and everything. Had EEGs and everything else. But now they say it s physiological seizures. But i feel no stress what so ever, I m living a fine life (besides seizures) but I m used to those. And they say it s because I m going through stress but I m not like I don t know why they say that. They are the first 2 neurologists to say that and I ve had at least 6-9 that all said epilepsy. So the true question is what the help is going on?!? Is it physiological should I trust them or get another doc?

If you had EEG's and they said it was epilepsy, I would ask what has happened that they say it is not? Did they look at the old EEG's and determine they were incorrectly read? Did they do multiple new EEG's and discover that the seizures are not being caused by what normally causes epilepsy?
if not...if they did not do BOTH of these things...I'd get new doctors.
Because first, people can have both epilepsy and physiological seizures, so unless they are saying that your first EEG results are different than the previous doctors determined, then your previous diagnosis still stands. Even if you DID have physiological seizures, it doesn't mean the epilepsy diagnosis was incorrect.
Second, if they did not EEG during a seizure...that's just sloppy and making assumptions. Which many doctors do, making educated guesses, but if you are truly not stressed, no major trauma in your background? Then in my experience, the doctors make this assumption and then assume you are lying or deluded and you DO have stress.
And third...there can be other reasons for a seizure that are not epilepsy, and i get the impression that they didn't check for these, either. I understand some heart conditions can impact seizures (including physiological ones). Celiac disease is a cause of seizures in some people, but is so little known among neurologists that I have yet to talk to one in the USA who knows about this except in a celiac research center (there is one doctor in the Uk who is studying this right now, along with gluten neuropathy) - the test for celiac disease is just a blood test, so might be worth checking out, you know?
There is a wonderful quote about this currently that I'll paraphrase: in olden days, if a physician couldn't find the physical cause for an illness, it must be witchcraft. Nowadays, if a physician can't find the physical cause for an illness, it must be mental problems - and many times, the diagnosis of a mental cause for physical problems is about as accurate as the witchcraft diagnosis.
If you do not feel comfortable with their diagnosis, I would absolutely get a second opinion with a new doctor. Just get a copy of any test results from them, and if you can, track down the original EEG results from when you were first diagnosed. Take it all to a new doctor.
