What does it mean in today's society to be a woman anyway?
Someone posted this a day or so ago, and it's a blog or small article by a woman. When I first saw the title, I was pretty sure I would disagree with most of the points, but I gave it a read. Here's the link if you want to check it out.

So in this article, this woman says transwoman, a) creep her out and b) will never know what it means to "be a woman". She mentions how even though she is a tomboy she is more feminine than they will ever be, and that even more masculine women today are more feminine than they will ever be. She says that transwomen are making it seem like being a woman is all about wearing heavy makeup, having big boobs, and wearing feminine clothes. But in all the blog, she never says what she thinks "being a woman" even means. Personally, I thought it was as simple as I have boobs and while they can be annoying I enjoy them. I have a vagina and while once a month I don't like my internal organs, I do not want a penis. There are obvious differences between men and women, but apart from maybe being paid more or earning respect a tad faster in some groups, I don't want to be a man cause I don't want a penis. Does being a woman mean something I'm not aware of, or is it as simple as I have boobs, a vagina, a more feminine face shape (sometimes) and I enjoy being considered a woman? I'm just curious about this.

What she's saying is that there shouldn't be anything attached to being a woman. That means being a tomboy doesn't make her any less of a woman. Just because she doesn't like wearing dresses, doesn't mean she's not a woman. She's saying that if your sex is female, you're a woman, regardless of the things you like to do. You can like "boyish" things and still be a woman. She's saying that she doesn't like the fact the people with the male sex can just say they're women, just because they wear dresses, makeup and other "girly" things. These things are stereotypes for women. She doesn't want there to be any gender stereotypes.

Well first, that article can best be described as a transphobic screed.
What it means to be a woman is not a monolithic experience, although that doesn't stop the media from constantly pushing stereotypes that indicate it is. There are all kinds of different women in this world. Your mission is resist trying to be a copy of someone else and be yourself. Celebrate the unique qualities that make you you and do what brings you joy.
