Would it be inappropriate to send an "I'm sorry" email to an ex, or would that just be opening a can of worms on 50 different levels?
I've been going through some stuff in storage this past weekend and I came across a note from an ex-girlfriend, from about 10 years ago. I'm married now (almost 8 years) as is my ex. But, we both still email each other for birthdays and holidays (our spouses both know about that). Only friends, nothing more.
Anyway, it was just a nice note from my ex and, upon reflection, I realize I was a pretty lousy person when we were dating.
Can any good come from emailing her and saying "sorry for being such a jerk back then", or would that be wrong/selfish/inappropriate/etc.?

Personally I don't think it's inappropriate. As long as there is no underling agenda for doing so. I firmly believe that being open and honest at ALL times is a sign of a good character.

Nope, absolutely no good can come of this.. unless you're looking for a reason to talk to her on a deeper level. If I had a brother that were thinking of doing that, I'd tell him to stop thinking about himself and let it go. You're married.
