Are the police really there to protect you?

Ok, first WHY would a cop grab your throat??? I have lived a long time and NEVER saw a cop grab anyone that wasn't committing a crime or resisting a cops requests to hold still, keep hands visible etc. Most every cop is married with little kids and they want to get home alive to their family. If they say stand still and you don't they get really nervous that you will grab for a knife in your pocket or something. Most every violent confrontation with a cop is from not following simple requests the cop makes. And no, you may not fight the cop at all. If you do you may be shot or have a broken arm and prison sentence from it.

Years ago, my car broke down on the way home from work after midnight, while walking home, I got stopped by the police about 2 blocks from my home. The cops asked me for my ID, they were patrolling my neighborhood because of recent burglaries, I wasn't offended; they were doing their job. By the way, I'm a white guy.

Of course not. If your wife was raped, she would give birth to the baby, weeks before a cop would bother to show up to take a report. Okay, maybe that IS a slight exaggeration. But, here IS a truth. When seconds count.....the cops are only minutes away. Why do you think so many Americans want to ARM themselves? 99% of gun owners are NOT criminals.

You are more in danger of a thug attack than a cop. We need militarization of police to control these sub-humans.

I wouldn't try any of these, if a cop tells you to do something, the best idea is to do it. And be polite.
