They believe in an invisible sky daddy who hates the same things they hate and loves the same things they love, and it MUST be true because how else could we have gotten here, and while we're giving gods credit for stuff we haven't figured out yet, what else would cause thunder and lightening and earthquakes?! God's anger at gay people, obviously!!!

It's not dear. But scripture makes it clear that the word of God is foolishness to those who are perishing, and to those who are being saved it is the power of God.
