ITT is not transferrable. An AA from ITT is a terminal degree--it won't go toward anything else. When students are looking at schools I always suggest they look into state-funded community colleges and technical schools, as they are regionally accredited and credits do transfer. However, even if you had an ATA (Associate in Technical Arts) degree from a community college, very few of those credits would transfer to university and go toward a BA/BS because the classes that make up these degrees are very specific to the program, not the types of general academic classes that count in a liberal arts education. Likely you will be starting from square one to earn a Bachelor's, unless you can find a school that will grant credits based on life experience.

It's tough, because ITT is not regionally accredited, so although you yourself are welcome to apply to transfer to any school in the US, it's possible that your credits from ITT won't transfer in. However, the Department of Education has asked the community colleges the US to try to accept what credits they can, so that could be an option for you. And if you don't mind not transferring credits, you can also apply to any university in the US.

If you have none of your credits transfer to another school, you may be able to apply to have your federal student loans from ITT forgiven. However, if you have even one credit transfers, you cannot. This may be something you want to look into before you proceed. ITT Tech can give you info on this - they still have people on staff to help students transition.
