Different deists will give you different answers, but Christians maintain that their God is uncreated, and the creator of everything. That means our God has always existed and had no creator - He is the uncreated Creator.

God claims that he is the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega. We tend to skip over this and not think of it much, but what he is essentially saying is that he is literally encompassing all time. He is omnipresent, omniscient, and all powerful. This claim means that before time "began" he was. To be created, that means that there needed to be a point before God was, and a point where he was created, and a time after his creation, but God is saying that there was no before, that he technically IS the before.

It's hard for our minds to wrap around, which is honestly what I would expect from an all powerful God outside of time, but that's how it boils down. We live in a state where everything is created from something; everything has a beginning, but God claims he is the beginning and nothing was before him because there was no before. He also claims that all things that were made, were made by him. He doesn't say "all things made on earth", he says ALL things. So that means he was before the creation of any and all things, and therefore was not created.

Before God there was no other god and after God there continued to be none. God had no beginning and will never have an ending. The only things humans know is that we and animals have a beginning and will end in death. There are those, though, who believe what God's word the Bible tells us; but there are also billions who do not. The only way we will know for sure that God does exist is when he gives his Son, Jesus Christ, the authority to take over earth's affairs. When all human governments fall and wicked ungodly people fall in death at the sides of righteous ones THEN people will "have to know that I am Jehovah" says Ezekiel 6:7 Yes, Ezekiel 7:4 tells us: "And my eye will not feel sorry for you, neither will I feel compassion, for upon you I shall bring your own ways, and in the midst of you your own detestable things will come to be; and you people will have to know that I am Jehovah." (5) This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said: "A calamity, a unique calamity, look! it is coming." Yes, when unbelieving ones see the "calamity" they will be awestruck in amazement and have to believe. Deists are like Atheists, they don't think the only interesting questions in the universe are worth asking because they can't find the answer. In both cases, they deny or repress deeper consideration of the truth rather than admit to the bleakness of a godless reality (Atheism and Deism are the same from a pragmatic perspective).

The Buddha's answer to "are there gods" or "what is the nature of God(s)" typify the Atheistic and Deistic approach to the question: "meh". They'd rather not think about it.

Even if God really exists, thus far, all we KNOW is that mankind only imagines Him, and has therefore arguably created Him, mentally.

The atom, for example, was only imagined to exist until it was proven to exist. Arguably, then, the concept of the atom was only a mental creation at that point. Certainly, before it was even imagined or proven to exist, but had not yet been, didn't mean it didn't exist!

the Bible says that God said He is without beginning or ending. since He was here before the rest of us, and has helped so many of us out, what reason have we to doubt Him?

it also says He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. i believe that means the beginning and ending of human life...

of course you believe he had a begining, because we live in a universe where everything has a begining. But he is outside the rules of this universe.
