Will this fix my problem?

My mechanic said I need a new motor because my motor is making very low compression. Well I plan to build my car to a higher horsepower so I'm going to put top end and bottom end engine rebuild kits into my car and ported cylinder heads. Will that fix my low compression as well?

A college course in engines will fix your problem. To FIX a problem you must first identify the cause. In your case the cause is lack of knowledge. Now, I'm not saying you're dumb or anything like that. Before I learned about engines I knew nothing about them We ALL have a point in our lives where we learn something new. Now is your opportunity to learn something new about engines and rebuilding. In the process you'll also learn what combinations make for better or worse performance. I strongly suggest you enroll in a class. At the very least, read some books on the subject before you start.

Yes, rebuilding the engine DOES fix low compression. Understanding how and why low compression becomes a problem - that's every bit as important an understanding as knowing the traffic laws. Failure to understand what's going on with an engine will likely lead to mistakes that will burn up your cash with only bad results.

list car type year size & mileage. Some

    engines are better than others

low compression caused mostly by warped cyl heads and bad head gaskets..the best engines have oil spray jets that spray the piston wrist pins and skirts with oil to allow higher rpm safely and extend engine life. domestic engines NOW are doing this. older ones not as efficient.

If you do not really know the answer to that then you really should not get involved in engine tuning in any way at all.

Yes it will fix it as you are replacing all of the parts that make the compression.

Low compression comes from bad valves and/or bad piston rings. A stretched timing chain or belt doesn't help either.

Rebuilding the engine (assuming that you do not have a cracked head or block) will fix the low compression situation

You will need the block machined first, then you'll need to find the rebuild kit that has the correct size piston diameter and rings.
