What does it mean when someone writes at the end of a letter "Love, your #1" then signs their name?

Obviously I understand the "Love, *name*" at the end of a letter, but the "your #1" threw me off. It's a compliment nonetheless but I've never been called that in a letter, or at all before, so I'm just curious what it means without asking the person that wrote it (might be rude to question their gesture). Thank you.

It does not sound like the person is calling you their number one. It sounds as if they are saying that *they* are your number one. If they meant you are their #1, they would have written "Love to my #1," not "Love [from] your #1." The words "your #1" apply to the name in the signature. So you have not been called that and it is not a compliment, unless it means "Love from your #1 admirer."

It could mean two things, depending on if they spelled ... YOUR ... correctly. If they meant to state YOU'RE #1, that would mean YOU ARE #1, (that you are the best or number one for them). If they meant... YOUR #1... It would mean that.. They are your Number 1 Fan or Admirer.

should be you're as in "you are."

or they are identifying yourself as her #1 friend or pal

It means that you are (or that *they hope* that you *are*) the 'number one' person, i.e., the first, the most important, the dearest, etc. person to them. It's kind of sweet. No, I wouldn't ask them either; I'd just take it as it was given....
