Biggest tip: SLOW DOWN. Evidently, you did not spend enough time when young, practicing handwriting, which is a skill set. So now, you have sloppy handwriting.

You have two options. 1. Start practicing to improve - spend 1/2 hour a day writing. Anything. What you see on the 'Net, what you see in the TV Guide, doesn't matter. Write it out CAREFULLY by hand, trying to make it look as nice as possible. After a few weeks/MONTHS, you will notice your overall penmanship improving.

    2. Since most people are far too lazy to devote themselves to specific practice for more than about a day and a half, learn to write a bit slower, and pay attention to what you are writing, not just scribbling it down quickly. While this will never truly improve your penmanship, it will at least give you a bit more control over legibility.

Try filling in application forms in print rather than cursive writing, and see if you can put the form over a lined sheet of paper, so the lines show through and keep you in a more or less straight line.
