A hip roof is in the form of four congruent isosceles trigangles. The base of each triangle is 24 ft. And the height is 11 ft. Find the measure of each base angle.

    "the height is 11 ft"

    Do you mean the height of the roof, or the slant length of each triangle? I'll assume it's the height of the roof.

    base length b = 24 ft

    height h = 11 ft

    slant height ℓ = √((0.5b)²+h²)

     = √(0.25·24²+11²)

     = √265 ft

     ≅ 16.3 ft

    θ is the base angle

    tanθ = ℓ/(24/2) = ℓ/12

    θ = arctan(ℓ/12) ≅ 53.6°
