Why do I still get acne in my 20s?

I've had acne problems since I was about 12 or 13. I've been on numerous different acne medications and creams and topical gels and pads and nothing has gotten rid of them completely. And I notice people my age or even a bit younger and they have good clear skin and it makes me embarrassed that I am out of my teens and still suffer with acne. I really don't want to keep getting it through my adult life or end up getting some acne scars that won't go away. What have some people done to get rid of their acne for good? It makes me feel so embarrassed. I clean myself properly and take care of my body and try not to touch my face much to not make it greasy but it still keeps coming back in random breakouts.

It could be hormonal due to either a hormone imbalance, stress, or even your diet. If you have a hormone imbalance, you can see an endocrinologist, to check, and see if their are any medicines to help balance your hormones. If it is due to stress, obviously try and decrease stress in your life. For diet, if you eat a lot of refined sugars, or dairy products, try doing without one, or the other, or both for a while, and see if that helps. Also, you need to make sure you drink enough water, to help your body flush out impurities. Also, sometimes you could have a particular nutritional vitamin or mineral deficiency, like you gotta make sure you are getting your daily intake of complex B vitamins and vitamin C, and there are other anti-oxidants you can also supplement if you have a problem with your body tending to flush toxins out of your skin. Also, milk thistle is supposed to help your liver, so you can clear out waste through your urine, as opposed to your skin. If it is a hormonal thing, some people swear by saw palmetto to help even out their over-production of androgens. Lastly, it could be your water, if you live in a place with hard water, so if that's the case, look into getting a shower filter so you can soften your water, as hard water can cause skin irritation and clog pores. Another thing you can try, is those blue LED light treatments, as there is more and more research showing that Blue LED light therapy can work wonders on acne prone people. There is also Red LED lights, which have some helpful effects, but the Blue LED lights have been shown to demonstrate significant improvement for people, who suffer from acne, and tried all other things, that have failed. Then, if all those fail, you should probably see a dermatologist. I know you said you tried all kinds of creams, but they can prescribe more potent things like Retin A or Differin, or even oral Isotretinoin, aka, Accutane, however, it is very toxic, and can't take it if you have certain conditions, and cannot get pregnant while taking it, or it can cause severe birth defects. If you can't make it to a dermatologist, and have tried all creams, I am not sure what you've tried, but if it was just like salicylic acid products, and benzoyl peroxide products, you can also try AHA products, containing glycolic acid, or lactic acid, and also you can try sulphur. There are some amazing sulphur bar soaps that people who had terrible acne, were able to be cleared up, just by using a $4 bar of sulphur soap.

    NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL

1/ Never, ever touch your face.

2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.

3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal

4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.

Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.

5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.

6/ Do this for 90 days.

7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to ‘double bag’ your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a

nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

I never have had acne, a few pimples on my left chin where I am most likely to rest my hand.

The secret is never to touch the spots

The People’s Pharmacy reports that Milk of Magnesia applied topically, at night is useful. This is 10% Magnesium Hydroxide in water. Epsom salts, which are Magnesium sulphate added to a hot bath are also reported to clear up back acne.

The very latest treatment is super gross, but works: August 2014, T. Borody: Faecal transfer from someone with perfect skin (and I’d guess, same gender.) These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This information is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.

Get an otc lotion called bevoline. I had cystic acne (the worse type) and acne scarring along my chin. The lotion doesn't clear you up from one day to the next but if you are patient, you will see significant improvements every time you use it. By a month I was only getting a pimple here and there. By six months my acne scarring was completely gone. It's cheaper on Amazon if you have prime. I hope my answer helps:)

If you have active oil glands, you could get acne at 30 because skin pores are still easy to be clogged by oil or dirt. Cleaning is a good way to prevent pores to be clogged. A cleanser like Chlorella Gel Cleanser that can clean out the oil blockages in pores could remove your acne quickly.

If you have oily skin, you will occasionally have a pimple or two for the rest of your life. Look at it this way, if you take care of your skin, it will stay younger-looking than most. Neither would I try to dry my skin out. The one thing I would be sure to do is to drink plenty of water because most people don't and it affects everything, including your skin.
