Can CPS tell the mother who has her baby?

As of now I read a status from this mother, and she asked her social worker if any of her family filed for foster care for this baby and all she said was No, is it supposed to be confidential where the baby is at? Or which family member has the baby? Being the baby is in Child protective services the mother is not supposed to know where the baby is at. I got word from my social worker the mother is in treatment and is cooperating now but does it take awhile for the baby to go back in the mothers custody?

The mother normally knows where the child us placed. She must have been seriously neglectful or even abusive not to get this information. She will have to prove she is competent to get the baby back.

Shes not allowed to know and yes it takes a good long while to prove you're responsible enough for your child

it probably depends on what happened and why the baby got taken away from her
