Baha'is claim Armageddon occurred a hundred years ago and we are well on our way to world peace, yet?
Yet most people say we are going to hell in a hand basket and things are just getting worse and worse. Can you defend your views?
GT, UHJ <dot> net is a fictitious and I would even say a malicious website. From page one to the end it is full of intentional falsifications, misstatements and exaggerations. It and a handful like it are run by an increasingly diminishing number of troublemakers and malcontents, none of whom are a part of any Baha'i Community anywhere in the world. Based on what I know, there may well be fewer than a dozen individuals in toto. Here is the real thing
In response to a request by A_I_H below. This was anything but allegorical. I may have to put the quote in a second edit, but first I would like to thank the Jehovah's Witnesses for putting out the Watchtower Library CD. Time and again I have been delving into it and quite by chance run into materials that support the Baha'i claims far more than they do the JW's claims. That has happened even when the materials were intended to buttress the Witness claims. JWs say the claim of peace and security
will come from some powerful organization, the United Nations perhaps. And it will not be a recognition of what is but rather what they are claiming they will enforce and guarantee. Witnesses believe Armageddon will start immediately on that announcement. It was in looking for something unrelated that a quote in the Watchtower Library caught my eye. That led me to look deeper and then to other sources. I was always under the belief that it would be the general population that believe (cont)
we have achieved peace, and find comfort in that. According to the Watchtower and other publications, in the 3 or 4 decades leading up to 1914, there was an increasing belief that wars were at an end. Add another to my list. Awake! May 8, 1970 is the first quote I just ran across in a search for that first one. "Had you been living in the springtime of 1914 ... to all intents the world was at peace and would remain at peace in the foreseeable future."
And another: Awake! Nov. 8, 1973 (cont)
This is becoming amusing. The quote: (Compared with our violent twentieth century, the previous century is rightly described as “a century of peace.”) There may be many more.
Quoting Abdu'l Baha, from a speech made by him in California, USA in October, 1912:
"We are on the eve of the Battle of Armageddon referred to in the sixteenth chapter of Revelation. The time is two years hence, when only a spark will set aflame the whole of Europe."

1 Thessalonians 5:3? Perhaps it has already been fulfilled, along with many other Bible passages Christians do not even recognize as being prophetic.
"By what process" continued the questioner, "will this peace on earth be established? Will it come at once after a universal declaration of the Truth?"
"No, it will come about gradually," said 'Abdu'l-Bahá. "A plant that grows too quickly lasts but a short time.

I've never heard that about the Baha'is before. Does that mean they say World War 1 was Armageddon? I only know that they employ heavily allegorical interpretations of Scripture so if they interpret what the Bible says about Armageddon as an allegory, it might not be a literal war on Earth that they mean.
Could you quote us from some of their literature on that, please? I would recommend 'Thief in the Night' by William Sears, on that point. Also, see the link below for much more on the Baha'i faith system. As for being "well on our way to world peace", I would comment that the Bible does say a time will come when people will cry 'Peace and security', then sudden destruction will come upon them - see 1 Thessalonians 5:3. I found an old article about the Baha'i Faith and Armageddon, part of which says this:
"The false prophet, the dragon, and the beast are all key players in the great battle of Armageddon that is soon to take place. Understanding now that the dragon is the corrupt Islamic Faith, the beast is the United Nations and the false prophet is the papacy and Christian clergy who are the antichrist, we can now answer the question of who the three foul spirits are that issue from the mouths of these three beasts.
"The mouth of the dragon is Saddam Hussein, the mouth of the beast is the president of the United States, who at this time is "W", George Bush Jr., and the mouth of the false prophet is the Pope.
"The Battle of Armageddon will be a religious war between the Israelites, the Christians, and the Muslims... The events which have taken place in the world, especially since 1991, have set the stage for the battle of Armageddon. The affairs of the world today clearly indicate that this great battle of Armageddon is going to happen very soon.
"Saddam Hussein will soon retaliate against the beast. The UN Building, which is the seat of the beast, will be the target of this retaliation. Saddam Hussein will destroy the seat of this beast with a nuclear bomb. The whole city of NY will be destroyed. The bombing of New York, however, is NOT the Battle of Armageddon. It is the prelude to Armageddon. Once New York is bombed, the United States will want to retaliate. Russia will most likely intervene to prevent this. The United Nations might then attempt to use the same type of tactics on Russia that they have used and are still using on Iraq."
Let's dig into the Baha'i theology. "The Lamb with seven horns (Revelation 5:6-10) represent the seven Manifestations whose Revelations are still practiced in the world today but have become apostate. These are Moses, Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad and Baha'u'llah... The person who is seated on the throne represents the living Davidic King, the current President of the UHJ, the Executive Branch in the Baha'i Faith and the scroll which the Lamb removes from the right hand of the Davidic King is the Covenant of Baha'u'llah and the Will and Testament of `Abdu'l-Baha."
"Jesus had no son. When He was crucified the lineage of King David through his son Nathan came to an end. The only lineage which remained that could last forever was the lineage of David's son Solomon which was the Throne Line of Kings. Baha'u'llah being the second Christ and seated on the throne of David passed this lineage of David to His son, the Most Great Branch, `Abdu'l-Baha and conferred upon him infallibility."
And here comes the important part: "The Kingdom of God is the World Order of Baha'u'llah. Apparently, "Jesus' Mission was accomplished with the establishment of the Universal House of Justice, it its appointed stage as the second International Baha'i Council on January 9, 1991."
Nothing I read in that link suggests people of the Baha'i Faith believe Armageddon has already happened.
Edit: I've just spotted your second question, about things getting worse and asking us to defend our views. Well, there is nothing to defend. I'm not defending the Baha'i Faith and I absolutely do not believe Armageddon has already happened. According to the Bible, Armageddon is still some time future and the Antichrist has yet to be revealed, the man who sets himself up over God and turns against God's people half way through a seven year peace treaty. It's going to get a lot worse yet. My views are represented in the second and third links below.

As the Virgin Mary has told us, war is a punishment sent by God for the sins of humanity. However, such punishments can be averted if enough people do penance and reform their lives.
It is important to work for the proper consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin. As of yet, this consecration has not been properly performed, and Russia continues spreading its errors, such as abortion, the destruction of families, divorce, the erosion of free speech, and atheism around the world.
