What s a good hourly rate?

A business woman needs my help learning PowerPoint. She asked what my hourly rate is. I was thinking $15-$20 per hour to teach her. What do you think? I m not certified really, it s just basic stuff I will be able to teach her that I know: animations, links, graphs, images, slides, etc.

  • Looks like you are an adult? If you know good tricks - fancy graphics, productivity, etc. and can teach these things clearly - I'd say you need to charge at least $35/hour. You might want to look at some cool PowerPoint tutorials before you do this - so you can show her some exotic stuff and make your rate worth her while! And let her know that you'll be available to help her out with questions in the future - as she puts her lessons to work - a value-added thing.

Being unqualified, you shouldn't really charge much... Id go with 15, I think.
