Headache for 3 years straight.. everyday?

I been suffering with headaches for 3 years straight every day all day... I finally saw a neurologist and he did a MRI, CT and an xray of my head and all came back negative and clear. He has done neck checks and finally put it down to Chronic Tension type headaches. He wants to give me something called "Botox" but Im not very sure it will work, isnt that only for beauty purposes.. He is very certain I will feel A LOT better as a lot of his patients have.

At first I thought it was my vision and my eyes because the pain was around my eyes and forhead and on both sides of my head. However I got multiple eye test done and only showed +0.25 in my left eye and all the docs have told me you have perfect vision and there is no problem with your eyes.. Please help me. They claim that tension headaches can cause pain when using your eyes as well. Will botox really help?

Nobody can answer that. It varies; totally depends on the patient. Overall, the effectiveness of Botox is no better than standard preventative meds and that would be my first question-- What meds have you tried? I haven't seen many good outcomes with it, but doctors like using Botox for two reasons: 1) It's incredibly expensive and 2) it makes for an in-office procedure which most docs really enjoy doing (too much, imho.) At best, Botox is a crap shoot.

I'd also point out that you've given away a vital clue. Whenever a chronic headache patient says they have *daily, unremitting HAs* that's a sure sign of psychosomatic pain. No genuine physical problem causes headaches 24/7; not even the worst cases of severe migraines & brain tumors. So before resorting to drastic measures, you should see a psychologist, preferably one who practices in pain management. And actually, I'm stunned your neurologist didn't suggest that.

Yes, I think it can. It is not just for beauty treatments. It is used to treat medical conditions as well. It can be injected into the underarm area to stop excessive sweating and it can be injected to help treat "an irritable bladder" for people who feel the need to pass water too frequently as well, so I am sure your doctor knows what he is doing. It sounds worth giving it a go.

So let me get this straight. You are asking a bunch of illiterate teenagers whether your doctor is right about a medical matter. You are really, really stupid.
