Whats wrong with my eyes..?
I got lasik done on my eyes for the 4th time and it finally corrected everything according to the surgeon and optometrist of lasik. My last surgery was 5 months ago. I see blurry all the time still! From close and far! And worse part is i feel my eyes are not working together.. like they cannot focus properly.. i have trouble reading as well.. cant focus on the words as they are not clear. My whole world looks smudged! I went back to lasik and to the surgeon.. they checked my eyes and i got a prescription of +0.25 in the left and an astigmatism of -0.25 on the right. They told me that my vision is perfect and that the blurry vision constantly and focusing problems is due to dry eyes. They said my eyes are very dry. They dont feel dry. Can dry eyes cause all this..

Scott's answer was a good answer as he highlighted the various potential outcomes associated with having LASIK and indeed LASEK.
My first question... why have you had so many treatments? You can't have much cornea left... I have your age, and I kind of know you have minimal residual refractive error and that also you have apparently very dry eyes...but I would like to know the Rx or strength of your glasses prior to having LASIK. ?
You also dropped a heavy hint in stating that you feel your eyes are feeling like they are not working together.... as a previous person who answered also picked up on.
Your case reminds me of a similar case I have dealt with in my own office years ago.... where a Px had multiple bouts of LASIK and was still unhappy with her vision...so she decided to give up on the company she was with and came to see me. The end result was a pair of spectacles to strengthen /stimulate her eye muscles and some exercises, again to strengthen the muscles.

LASIK, like any surgery carries with it some risks and it sounds like you got a few of the side effects with the surgery. I know several people who have had some of the side effects of the surgery and today they are sorry they ever had the procedure. Two of the people I know have not been able to drive at night for years! All of these people's procedures were classified as successful too!
LASIK risks, including:
Undercorrections. ...
Overcorrections. ...
Vision returning to pre-surgery vision. ...
Visual loss or changes. ...
Astigmatism. ...
Glare, halos and double vision. ...
Dry eyes. ...
Flap problems.

You can actually develop a problem with convergence, and you might need some lessons on how to improve. It's got nothing to do with whether your eyesight is perfect. So stop trying to tweak your eyesight, deal with what you've got and get the help you need to improve your ability to focus close up.
