Does anyone else find taking a hammer to certain electronic devices to be, shall we say, cathartic?

I did earlier, and it felt quite good after the headache I got trying to get the thing to work.

Yes it can. I have a tool that fixes all. A sledge hammer I call big yellow. Because the handle is yellow. Use it on a push mower once and don't regret it one bit. When finished it was in pieces. It drew first blood and I took that SOB out. Pure satisfaction.

be careful if it is a old fat CRT television it will: fart out it's toxic gases and phosfors or whatever n they got some mercury, lead, radiation cristals and whatnot I accidentally busted a crt tube before while taking it to the trash can and let me tell you, It smelled like all hell! Not good and luckally it was outside in a ventilated area.

I have only done that twice for security reasons. In both cases I had a very good reason to do so. The devices were dead, and too expensive to bother repairing. They both contained my name and other private account information. I wanted to make sure the data could never be recovered.

My employer does the same with company issued phones, and so forth. They take a hammer to old hard drives as well.

Anyway, I would only do such destructive things that are no longer of any value.

Cathartic? Not really, but then again if it is a printer, maybe.

Hi it could be life threatening actually as some have some toxic parts inside them so might even cause your death.

For headaches, I find Ibuprofen easier to swallow.

Also - don't rule out a sawed off shotgun with double 00 buckshot...... it's terribly satisfying used on telephones and computers.
