Does this sound like a stomach ulcer or something more serious?

My male friend is reporting that he has pain like 2 inches left & 1 inch high of their belly button? I think he may have a stomach ulcer as the symptoms just began, but he seems worried it is something more serious? He doesn't have health insurance and is worried about going to the ER for it.

    If he thinks he has an ulcer then he needs to go to the Dr.

    Stomach pain can be caused by a million and one different things. No one can diagnose him over the internet.

    Unless his pain is severe, he shouldn't go to the ER. But he should see a doctor.
