Why are many people fully liberal or fully conservative?
It seems as if people choose their stances on issues based on their ideology or political party rather than choosing their ideology based on stances. I have some conservative and some liberal values and don't swear my undying allegiance to any one party or ideology. Few examples of my beliefs:
Support pro-life (C)
Against death penalty (L)
Support gun control (L)
Support large military (C)
Anybody else feel this way or are you strictly liberal or conservative?

Taxing the Rich so they start paying their fair share.
Tax breaks for the poor and the middle class .. they mostly sped everything they get, so this will improve the economy.
I own guns. I own property and want to keep what I have.
Abortion === don't care .. leaning in favor. Trump's mother should have had one.
Birth control -- in FAVOR ... Too many Muslims, Jesus Freaks, etc ... forced sterilization
Gays --- should not adopt .. lower birth rate. More gay men and th more women left for me.

I don't support pro-life in all cases, but support liberal abortion laws with part of coservatism, but if you want it so, I'm a pro-life liberal, so:
Support pro-life (L)
Against death penalty (L)
Support gun control (L)
Support large military (C)
and:
Support marijuana legalization (L)
Support strong laws against illegal immigrants (C)
Support women's rights (L)
Support lifetime jail for child abusers (C)
Support common health insurance (L)
Support net equality as to bandwidth not only for AT&T and Netflix (L)
Support reduction of college fees and put part of them on the taxpayer (L)
Support that evolution be taught in biology and science classes, and creationism be banned (L)
Support that nuclear power be used (C)
until state funded research (L)
gets solar to use (L/C).
If I would found a party, the above would be my program. As you can see, mostly liberal, because I think, only if you are liberal you can build the future, or at least, _A_ future. Conservatives, forgive me if you are one, live on fear. Liberals live on hope. And you can't build anything living on fear. Hopes can get true, hopes can be horribly disappointed, but you don't know if you haven't even tried. By being conservative, people will never get a man or woman to Mars, and safely back.

So in other words your political philosophy is "snarky and holier-than-thou."

This is why I hate labels. They are unnecessarily divisive, and result in presumption often false that a simple discussion would make clear, so long as one is willing to listen.

Actually most people are like you. Few are 100% Liberal or Conservative.
But of the many issues, there are a few that you are probably very passionate about, and that is what generally defines you.
For me, my top 3 issues are improving the economy and growing jobs via tax and regulatory relief, pro-2nd Amendment and wanting a strong national security. This makes me primarily a Conservative.
But I'm OK if Marijuana is legalized. I don't really care if gays marry or not. Those are Liberal issues that I'm OK with, but I'm not really passionate about.
So what are you passionate about?
