Are video games that have a story and an ending better than games that have no ending?

Is it better to play games like Mario, Zelda, or Portal than playing games like Call of Duty (Multiplayer) and Madden? The latter tend to be fun but they are repetitive and make you wonder if it's even worth it. Games like Zelda you can enjoy the story and feel good when you beat it. Which type of game do you prefer and why?

I like games w/ story and an ending. Don't have all the time in the world for games that are repetitive and have no ending. I like games that have good stories (such as classic rpgs) because then you get to enjoy a visual novel that unfolds based on your choices.

Uh yeah, pal, all games have an ending. In case you forgot, games like Legend of Zelda don't have a multiplayer, but Call of Duty still has campaigns. Soooo, I'd actually prefer games that have both a campaign and multiplayer mode of some sort.

Call of Duty isn't repetitive, it's just fast paced. And apparently you're bad at it since you keep dying enough for it to make you whine.

the best games are the ones you have fun with, it all depends on the player. the games i have the most fun with tend to be kid friendly and brightly colored, typically with a story, but not always. i love games like pokemon, zelda, sly cooper, jak and daxter, spyro, mario, and kirby

Games with a story have more meaning like The Last of Us.
