When did your children learn to talk?

My daughter Abby didn’t say her first word until she was 15 months, 1 week but then by the time she was 2 years old she was talking as well as most 3 year olds.

My son Benny is 9 months old today and he just said his first word a couple of days ago which was “Mama”.

My nephew Xavier said “Mama” when he was 6 months old and now at 14 months old he can say about 50 words or so (he is learning new words all the time so it’s hard to keep track). He isn’t saying any 2 word phrases yet, but he really just started learning lots of new words in the past few weeks so that is probably coming fairly soon.

  • I don't have any children, but my nephew Dillon didn’t say his first word until nearly 2 years old and didn’t start talking in simple sentences until about 3.5 years old and my niece and his twin Desiree said her first word around 18 months old, and didn’t start talking in simple sentences until around 3 years old (They were born 3 months early and started speech therapy around 21 months old). My other nephew Tobias who is Dillon and Desiree's baby brother is only 23 days old so not sure when he will talk yet lol.

One of my other nieces Lily Belle was 6 months old when she said her first word and was talking in simple sentences by the time she was 15 months old and my 3rd niece and Lily Belle’s baby sister Dani Mae is 6.5 months old now and hasn’t started talking yet.
