Yes. The two Houses are more than relevant - there is a documentary on BBC2 running right now on the Lords which some might benefit from watching. Having another House to keep the Common in line works well, for the most part. There's nothing wrong with looking to people with experience and age, for guidance if nothing else.

More than ever now that the House of Commons is occupied by career-first politicians. Both could be made a lot smaller when Scotland quits the Union.

There are very few hereditary Peers now,Tony Blairs government got rid of ,most of them. These days its mostly composed of life Peers who have done something to have earned the honour. There is vast experience and knowledge in the Lords.

No, it's stuffed full of party donors and failed MP's and there is no limit to it's size, there is always room for one more crony and they can even be sent to jail and keep their seat. It would be good to have an upper house full of actual experts who review laws before they are put through but that's not the way it is, a lot of them just sign in for 20 minutes and sign out again which entitles them to huge payments for nothing. Of course there is a point to an upper house that reviews law proposals but it could be a lot smaller, and members could be elected and get a salary rather than a large amount of them being installed permanently and then they are fraudulently signing in and out for huge expenses because they never have to face an election.

Yes to some extent. Sometimes one group of people will come up with stuff that needs to be toned down.

It wasn't relevant in the ANY age. Unelected, waste of money and pointless just like the adverts that slow down this page. A pain in the ars.
