Check engine light flashed for 30 seconds?

The light flashed for 30 seconds, then stopped. It's done this once before at the top of a hill, (like this time). Soon as I hit the top, it stopped. First time was summer, second time it was a snowy road, both times at aproximently 50 MPh and 4500 rpm, in 3rd kicking into 4the gear. No other problems noted. Old car 220000 miles. Not looking to put a ton into the car.

I know it's suppost to be engine misfire, but seems to be running fine. (Light only lasted for 30 seconds, oil collect ok, gas half a tank)

It is missfiring under load; aka the hill you mention. Eventually it will missfire without load. Flashing light also means or more importantly to the driver; this problem is destroying the catalytic converter. That's anywhere from a $200 to $3300 problem in my experience. It's cheaper to hurry up and fix the missfire. Develop a $3 spark plug into a $1500 cat converter seems like a bad move to me.

If the light flashed you have a code stored in the computer. Get the code read and then post it here.
