What age did you expect your children to sit quietly during a church or other religious service?
Just curious as my nephew Tobias was just baptized today and there was one family there that was expecting their 2 year old daughter to sit still and quiet throughout the whole service which just seems like a long time for a young child to be sitting quietly. I have a hard enough time with it and I’m an adult (but then I am not very religious at all and rarely go to church).
So just curious how old were your children when you expected them to sit quietly during a church or other religious service?
FYI they have nursery care for children younger than 5 years old at this church.

My youngest is 2. Even though he's pretty good, he gets antsy. So, we stay in the "family room" (sometimes called crying rooms) which is the big glass room in the back with speakers so you can hear what's going on during the service.

Most children are capable of sitting quietly by the time they are 4. At least, mine were.

That is why churches have Sunday schools. No one expects a kid to sit quietly through a church service.

I can't answer re: during a church service or other religious service. I didn't take my children to church. However, I'm pretty sure neither of them sat still until we got the internet in the mid-90's. They were 9 and 10 at the time.
