Can I count miles from my house if I am headed on a work errand before I head to the office on my taxes?

I know I can't count miles when I drive straight from hone to work or from work to home. Can I count them if I drive from my house to Staples and then to work?

Total miles minus the miles if you went directly to work.

Not if it's on your way.

You could include the excess mileage incurred by going by Staples.

Staples to work perhaps, not home to Staples.

No, you cannot. Only from the office to a job, to another job, back to the office.
