You are the only one who can live your life, so you have to decide what you will do with it. No one else can give you advice that you can depend on. Why did you go into engineering in the first place? Did a family member convince you it was the right major for you? Does making new things excite you? Does a technical problem that others say can't be solved challenge you to think you want to solve that problem? If all of this just scares you, reconsider whether engineering should be part of your future. Before you quit, know that engineering school is really hard for everyone who actually goes to engineering school. Most who keep up do so by investing an average of 70 hours/week in their school work. Less than that probably won't get it done for most, regardless of brains, experience, or family connections.

engineering, you will love-it
its much better than laying bricks!
however it can be stressful sometimes, it depends where you will land (what company) not what job
all my life I had it good
at retirement, we do consulting, that is working on 25 simultaneous projects, parts list, drawings...
ridiculous lead times...
on the other hands, would you prefer doctor to listen to people complaints all day?
or lawyer? those that I knew then are now in real estate...
its not the best paying job, (not in electronics) but its fun
In the medical, in the operating room it is freezing cold, (between 0 and +4ºC) explosive gases...dangerous!
but the pay is good
in chemicals, the petroleum have a hard life, the cosmetics seems to do much better (look at Loreal)
at the end of the day its all the same, wosh-wosh to ship
electronics is by far the best to me

Go to your local library and take the Vocational Aptitude Tests.
This is a series of tests to narrow down your field, the one you are best suited for, the field you will be happiest working in, the one where you will make the greatest contribution.
You don't have to go into it strictly but it is extremely valuable to know what yours is in your career.
The test is free at the library. It will take a few hours of testing over a couple of weekends.
It will help you in picking where you need to go in jobs and further education.
It is not all about money, It is about enjoying your work.
Never let others tell you which way to go in your career.
After doing the test you will KNOW what to do and which way to turn.
The tests are free but require you to commit a few hours of time, a worthwhile investment for your future.
It was the single best factor in my career.

There are other skilled jobs that are very much in demand but that are more "hands on" -- like being a plumber or an electrician or HVAC technician. These pay pretty well and you can have your own business once you have the appropriate license.
