Which is best for my truck - Redline gear oil vs Royal Purple gear oil in Toyota sequioa 2008?
I have a Toyota Sequoia 2008 4WD Iam buying your oil 75W85 for differentials (front & rear). Will also buy 75W90 for transfer case.
Do I have to also order and use Red Line Friction Modifier & Break-In Additive 4 oz 80301? Want to do the changing myself but not sure if my truck needs the modifier.
I thought of buying Royal purple 75W-90 for both differential and transfer but they dont have 75w-85 for differentials and rather recommend 75W-90.
I live in an area that temperatures are 35-40 degrees celcius. Will be doing mostly highway and a bit of stop and go traffic driving. Any advise and suggestion on other gear oils?
Regards

As long as the gear oil you are buying meets manufacturer requirements, it doesn't matter. I usually go with the cheapest option that meets manufacturer specs.

IF you have limited slip differentials you need the additives for them. Otherwise the difference is so slight as the same as splitting hairs and is meaningless.

Walmart carries synthetic oil in their brand, and it is just as good as these others. I just bought some for $6. Of course, if you want to pi$$ your money away...
